Melinda Masson, CCAM®, PCAM ®
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Melinda Masson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The MERIT Companies. Since founding MERIT in 1980, Masson has been a prominent influence in defining the community association industry and establishing its professional standards and ethical guidelines. Her vision and innovation has led to more than two decades of continuous growth for MERIT, which commemorated 25 years of giving, growing, and serving great communities in August of 2005.
Masson’s philanthropic commitment led United Way of Orange County to name her its 2004-2005 campaign chair. The Orange County Business Journal has named Masson one of Orange County’s 50 most influential business people every year since 1996. She is a founder and past three-term chair of the California Association of Community Managers, earning that organization’s President’s Award in 1994 and Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.
Masson is a widely sought-after spokesperson within the industry. She was on the national speaking circuit with “What Women Really Want in Neighborhoods, Communities and Homes”, drawing record crowds with this popular talk at Urban Land Institute and Pacific Coast Builders Conferences nationwide.
