MERIT Property Management, a leading provider of professional community association and rental management services, announces that Community Manager Christina Rodrigues was presented with a Vision Award by the California Association of Community Managers (CACM).
Rodrigues received the "Creative Solutions for Problem Solving, Level I" (301 or more units) award for her work completing a major landscape renovation and tree replacement for over 20-acres of land in 60 unit single family home community she manages in Southern California. Utilizing creativity and persistence she was able to complete the project in seven months as opposed to the five year projected timeline and bring the total cost of the project from $500,000 to $137,000, a realized net savings of $363,000 to the association.
"At the beginning of this project, the association was projecting a special assessment of approximately $7,000 per homeowner over five years to complete the entire job," states MERIT Community Manager Christina Rodrigues. "I wanted to do everything in my power to not impose this cost on our homeowners, especially during this tough economic time. With a lot of research and creativity we were able to accomplish this feat."
Rodrigues resides in Mission Viejo, CA and was one of two MERIT community managers to receive a 2010 Vision Award. The CACM Vision Awards honor community association managers and industry professionals who demonstrate excellence in community services and dedication to their communities. The Vision Award ceremony held on July 29th at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA. The 2010 awards competition and annual CACM state-wide trade show featured over 200 exhibitors, well-known speakers, workshops and networking opportunities for industry professionals.
