Orange County, CA, March 24, 2011 — MERIT Property Management, a leading provider for community associations in California, announces that their Vice President of Active Adult Communities, Scott Hysler, will teach a program on 'Creating Lifestyle and Fitness for Today's and Tomorrow's Seniors' in Alberta, Canada on April 5-6, 2011. The program is hosted at the Grande Prairie Regional College located at 10726-106 Avenue Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, T8V 4C4.
On April 5, 2011, Hysler will speak to students and teachers of the Older Adult Fitness and Wellness Program at Grande Prairie Regional College and on April 6, 2011, he will present to the Grande Spirit Foundation, the Be Fit For Life Centre, the Alberta Golden Age Centre and the Alberta 55+ Seniors Games Organizing Committee.
Through the program, participants will learn about the skills, attitudes and experience necessary to work effectively with older adults along with learning to identify safe and appropriate sports and leisure and fitness activities. The course includes information on fitness assessments and prescriptions, fall prevention strategies, activity adaptation for aging and medical issues, nutrition, pharmacology, cultural issues and new initiatives in adventure tourism.
